Simplified goods lifts are often designed for transporting standard europallets or industrial pallets. But what happens when the goods to be transported are larger than the usual dimensions of a standard pallet?
A well-known manufacturer of roller shutters faced this challenge. To ensure efficient material flow in its factory, the company needed a solution to safely transport goods with a width of up to two meters and a length of more than four meters between two production levels.
The solution with minimal structural changes
The desired combination of payload, lifting height, and platform dimensions could have been achieved with either a hydraulic lift table or a column lift.
However, thanks to sufficient ceiling height, we chose the column lift. This decision allowed for a minimally invasive installation. To enable floor-level access to the simplified goods lift, only a shallow pit depth of 180 mm was required. In many cases, this can be accomplished by removing the screed in the installation area.
Goods lift with industrial-look
To create a uniform appearance between the hydraulic lift and the existing manufacturing environment, a robust shaft made of square tubing with internally clad sheet metal was provided by the construction side. Our team supported the customer in the planning and implementation of the shaft, ensuring that all regulatory requirements were met in the end.
The construction-side shaft was complemented by two landing doors from our company. These are equipped with an electromechanical safety interlock that only allows the corresponding door to open when the platform is at the respective floor.
User-friendly operation
At both stops of our simplified godds lift, a call and send control with self-holding was installed, enabling intuitive and comfortable operation. This type of control allows the operator to request the platform regardless of its current position or send it to another stop without having to constantly hold down the control button.
With our goods lifts, you are on the safe side
Safety is our top priority. For this reason, our goods lift is equipped with a range of safety features: from load monitoring, which prevents overloading of the lift, to a hose rupture test that allows for the inspection of safety valves.
The safety of our systems is not just about technology but also knowledge. Therefore, a sensible briefing of the operating and maintenance staff is conducted by our experienced installers. The handling of the system is explained in detail, ensuring that the lift can be operated safely and efficiently.
