This simplified goods lift can be found in the delivery area of a catering business in the beautiful Freiburg in Breisgau, close to the Swiss border.
Notably, it has a high effective stroke while maintaining compact platform dimensions.
How is the goods lift used?
The depicted goods lift supports the catering industry in downtown Freiburg. It is specifically used to transport food safely and efficiently to the basement after delivery.
Comparison: Column lift vs. scissor lift table
If you take a look at our references, you will notice that we use both column lifts and scissor lift tables as bases for our simplified goods lifts.
Scissor lift tables offer the advantage that the entire area of the ceiling break can be used as a platform and no lift overrun is required. Column lifts, on the other hand, are ideal when a relatively small platform and minimal pit depth are desired while still achieving a high lift height (further details on the advantages and disadvantages can be found in our article 'The Basics: Scissor lift tables and column lifts').
For this project, due to the limited space, a small platform was necessary. Therefore, a column lift was chosen as the base. The column lift had the advantage that removing the screed at the lower stop was sufficient to create enough clearance for the platform. This made it possible to ensure floor-level loading without the need to excavate a deep pit.
Features of the simplified goods lift
Our simplified goods lift is equipped with the usual high-quality features:
- Soft start and smooth entry: The speed is reduced at the stops to allow for a comfortable loading and unloading experience.
- Automatic control: For convenient and easy operation, appreciated by users of passenger elevators.
- Electromechanically secured access doors: At each stop, these ensure increased safety.
- Hose burst test: The integrated hose burst test allows for regular checks of the safety valves.
- Load monitoring: An electronic pressure switch monitors the load to prevent overloading of the goods lift.
