Description of application
The loading lift table is located in the goods delivery area to transport the retail products to the lower level of the grocery store's warehouse. The trucks are unloaded with electric pallet trucks, the palletised goods are pushed onto the platform of the loading lift and lowered to the bottom level at the push of a button. Because it is a loading lift, people are allowed to ride along on it. This means that the operator can push the goods from the platform directly into the warehouse as soon as the loading lift table is fully lowered.
As people do walk on the platform, it is made of chequer plate. This increases the safety for the employees, as the slip resistance is better than on a platform made of smooth sheet metal.
In addition, it is clear in the images that the platform has no railings on the long sides. This is possible due to the on-site installation situation. The high walls on the two long sides protrude 1.1 metres above the top edge of the platform. So, nobody can fall from it in the raised position. The walls therefore replace the railing on the long sides.
A 2-leaf door with electromechanical locking provides a safety barrier on the narrow side. When the loading lift table is at the bottom, the gantry on the opposite side acts as fall protection from the top landing. The crossbar of the gantry serves as a railing handrail.
The scissoring movement of the lift table poses a risk of pinching and crushing. As the operator on the platform cannot see if a person is in the hazard zone when operating the loading lift table, the access side is shielded by a yellow PVC roller screen under the platform.
Of course, leaks can also occur from time to time when a hose ruptures or a hydraulic hose is damaged For such an eventuality, the cylinders are fitted with check valves. These prevent the platform from dropping down unintentionally. The platform also lowers only when the "Lower" button is pressed. This means that the employee does not have to fear that the platform will rush down if there is a leak.
Our customer wanted to keep the option open to operate the loading lift table both from the platform and from the landings. That is why the loading lift has a total of three control panels. The simple reason is that when a large delivery of goods arrives, several employees are involved in the unloading process. One employee unloads the truck and places the goods on the platform, while the second employee stands ready at the bottom landing with an electric pallet truck to receive the goods and take it directly to the warehouse. While the second employee stores the goods, the first employee can raise the scissor lift table to the top position again by operating it at the top landing.
Employees are not always able to estimate the weight of the palletised goods. Pressure sensors detect when the loading lift table is loaded with more than 2 tons. The platform can no longer be raised and the signal lamp lights up so that the employee is warned accordingly. Only when the weight has been reduced, is the loading lift table ready to move again. The purpose of overload measurement is to protect the loading platform against mechanical damage caused by a load that is too heavy. Of course we can also supply loading lift tables that lift more than 2 tons. Simply tell us if it is required before we prepare the quotation.
Another extra is the mechanical stops at the top landing. They prevent the platform from deflecting or rebounding too much when the load is transferred. This is necessary so that there is no offset between the platform and the top loading point, which would make loading the platform extremely difficult. The mechanical stops provide a smooth and effortless load transfer.
