Passenger transport without a railing?

Some of our clients prefer platforms without railings. However, this desire cannot always be implemented for safety reasons, especially when people use the platform. In the project presented here, however, it is possible to omit a railing on the narrow side of the platform.

Why does the lift table not require a railing on the narrow side?

This question can be quickly clarified: The fall height is below the critical measure. According to the standard EN 1570-1, railings are required only for fall heights of 500 mm or more. Since our scissor lift platform reaches a maximum lifting height of only 430 mm, a railing is not necessary.

Why does the lift table need an automatic roll-off protection?

Even though the standard does not prescribe railings for the platform, having a fall protection is still sensible. The great advantage of the low effective stroke is that the roll-off protection can be flexibly designed.
To simplify operation, we have opted for an automatic roll-off protection. This consists of a bar integrated into the platform. The bar automatically retracts into the platform when the lift table reaches the lower stop and extends before the actual lifting movement begins. This prevents loads from rolling off the platform.

Where is the loading lift table used?

The loading lift table is located in the delivery area of a supermarket. Due to subsequent construction measures, a height difference of 430 mm was created between the storage area and the sales floor.
Given the heavy goods and the high volume of items being handled, a longer ramp was not an option. To alleviate physical strain on the staff, our loading lift table was chosen to compensate for the height difference.
