For wheelchair users, a staircase without additional aids presents an insurmountable obstacle. To provide barrier-free access, ramps, elevators, or, as in this specific case, a lifting platform are necessary.
Insights into the safety requirements of lift tables for accessibility
This scissor lift platform offers wheelchair users the ability to move between two levels. To ensure safe operation, specific requirements must be met for the construction of the lift platform. Below, we explain the details.
Safe lowering in case of power failure
When transporting people on lift tables, it is essential that the platform can be safely lowered even in the event of a power failure. For this reason, we equip all lift tables that permit the transport of people with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The UPS allows for the control of electrically unlockable check valves even during a power outage, enabling the platform to be lowered in a controlled manner.
Overload measurement
Our scissor lift tables are protected against overload by a robust construction and a combination of hydraulic safety valves and electronic pressure sensors. In the lower position, a pressure relief valve prevents the platform from being raised when overloaded. In the upper lift position, an electronic pressure switch is used, which monitors the pressure in the hydraulic system. If the preset pressure is exceeded, operation of the lift table is not possible. A corresponding warning message is issued to the operator.
Safety without toe protection safety strips
Experts familiar with scissor lift tables will notice that this model lacks a common safety feature: the toe protection safety strips. This is possible because the lift table operates within a completely enclosed shaft.
The inspection logbook
The scissor lift table comes with an inspection log in which all maintenance work is carefully documented. This approach, comparable to a car service booklet, ensures that the lift table remains in impeccable condition and all safety features function reliably.
Additional features of the lift table
Compensation for construction tolerances
In the construction industry, it is often difficult to maintain millimeter-precise dimensions. For this reason, our lift tables offer flexible adjustment options to compensate for common construction tolerances.
For example, mounting bolts or leveling feet on the subframe allow for precise adjustment of the lower position. The combination of upper end stop and lift limit switch ensures that the upper stopping point can be precisely reached.
Platform with surrounding stainless steel edge
This lift table, specially designed for a government institution, meets high design standards to blend harmoniously into its environment. The platform is equipped with a surrounding stainless steel edge, allowing for seamless integration into the installation space. By using the same flooring material found in surrounding areas, the hydraulic lift table integrates discreetly and aesthetically into its environment.
