When size is an obstacle …

In the reference from last week, we introduced a simplified goods lift that features an especially large platform. However, size is not always an advantage. In some cases, it is precisely the small platforms that prove to be useful.

Compact solutions for challenging environments

The hydraulic lift is used in a data center of a research institute. Over time, individual racks of the data center need to be replaced. To facilitate the transport of these racks to heights of over four meters, our client opted for the use of a simplified goods lift.

The challenge with this project: The entire data center was already operational, and the only possible installation site was accessible solely through a narrow corridor system. Additionally, the space available for the column lift itself was limited, necessitating a custom-designed enclosure.

So different, yet so alike

Although the simplified goods lift differs in many aspects from the previous reference, at its core, it utilizes the same fundamental technology. Both systems offer high-quality features that enhance user comfort and safety:

  • Reduced lifting and lowering speed at the stops: Ensures a smooth approach to the endpoints.
  • Automatic mode: Allows for easy and convenient operation..
  • Electrically locked landing doors: Ensure safe operation by preventing accidental opening during movement.
  • Load monitoring: An electronic pressure switch monitors the cargo to prevent overloading of the goods lift.
