Dock lift table for optimal goods flow in the warehouse
The dock lift table is located in the goods receiving area and facilitates the transportation of commercial products from the truck to the lower floor of the warehouse. The goods are loaded from the trucks onto the lift table platform using electric pallet trucks. Since the loading platform is approved for passenger transportation, the operator can conveniently push the goods directly from the platform into the warehouse, saving time.
Safety features for the dock lift table
Our dock lift table is equipped with special safety features to ensure maximum safety for the personnel.
The platform is made of tear plate, which offers higher slip resistance than conventional smooth plate, thereby increasing step safety.
As shown in the photos, the platform has no railings on the long sides, as existing walls ensure that no one can fall off the sides when the dock lift table is in the raised position. On the short side, a double-wing door with electromechanical locking secures the platform. When the scissor lift table is in the lowered position, the opposite portal serves as additional fall protection, with the crossbar acting as a handrail.
To protect against pinching and crushing hazards, the access side is equipped with a yellow PVC roll-up curtain below the platform. This roll-up curtain prevents people from entering the danger area unnoticed while the operator is operating the lift table.
Additionally, check valves are installed on the cylinders to prevent unwanted lowering of the platform in case of hose rupture or damage to a hydraulic hose. These valves ensure that the platform only descends upon issuing a lowering command.
Additional features
The dock lift table is equipped with three control stations: one on the platform and one at each of the two stops. This setup enables a smooth unloading process, where one employee unloads the truck and places the goods on the platform, while a second employee stands ready at the lower stop to take over the goods with an electric pallet truck and transport them directly into the warehouse. The employee at the upper stop can immediately return the scissor lift platform to its starting position after unloading.
To prevent overloads, the lift table is equipped with pressure sensors that detect when the maximum load limit of 2 tons is exceeded. The platform is then automatically blocked, and a warning light informs the operator that the weight must be reduced before the lift table can be operated again. This feature protects the dock lift table from damage due to overloading.
Additionally, mechanical stops at the upper stop ensure that the platform does not excessively compress or rebound during load transfer. This measure prevents a height discrepancy between the platform and the loading point, ensuring a safe and precise load transfer.
