In some cases, using a standard lift table is sufficient. For this project, a straightforward solution was sought for redesigning an assembly workstation.
Advantages of using an assembly lift table
In the redesign of the workstations, two key points were prioritized:
- Efficiency gains by eliminating unnecessary processes.
- Ergonomic design of workstations to promote employee health.
Before the modernization of the workstations, employees often had to lift heavy components from a hand pallet truck to their workbench. This was neither efficient nor back-friendly.
By using our assembly lift table, these challenges were addressed:
- Easy positioning of workpieces: The pallet with the workpieces is placed on the platform using a hand pallet truck and then brought to the desired working height with the push of a button.
- Back-friendly operation: The need to lift heavy components is eliminated, reducing the physical strain on employees.
The advantages of using a work lift table are evident. While the employer can reduce costs by minimizing sick days and eliminating unnecessary work steps, the employee can relieve their back, thereby protecting their health.
Standard equipment and slight modifications
Our 2,000 kg standard lift table serves as the basis for this project. As a result, the lift table comes with all the standard features included in our delivery. Notable among these are the articulated leveling feet and rubberized support bolts, as these features are not included as standard by every lift table manufacturer.
However, in some aspects, the assembly lift table deviates from our basic model:
- External hydraulic unit: The hydraulic unit is mounted on an external leakage oil pan instead of being integrated into the lift table. This external arrangement is due to the pit installation. If malfunctions occur, they would need to be resolved through an inspection opening with a standard installed unit. An external hydraulic unit, however, provides more convenient access to the controls.
- Customized platform dimensions: The platform was made slightly narrower and longer than the standard version to meet the specific requirements of the project.
