Whenever we manufacture a particularly large lift table for a customer, it stands out in production. The size of such lift tables naturally attracts attention. However, size is not always the only impressive factor.
The application: Creating ergonomic working conditions
The lift table we developed is used as a work lift table in the production facilities of a renowned manufacturer of heating systems. It is needed to raise components to the individually suitable working height, thereby supporting ergonomic work practices.
The compact size
The most distinctive feature of our assembly lift table is its size, especially the width of the platform.
The workpiece needs to be easily accessible from both longitudinal sides in production. Therefore, the lift table has a platform width of no more than 400 mm. This is crucial to prevent employees from having to lean too far over the table or even climb onto the platform to work on the pieces.
However, the narrow platform brings a challenge: the placement of the hydraulic unit. Normally, we install the hydraulic unit between the scissor lifts on mobile lift tables. But with a lift table platform width of only 400 mm, there is little room for accommodation – in fact, it's no more than 100 mm. Therefore, a different solution was needed: Our designers have provided a trough beneath the actual subframe, ensuring enough space for the proper routing of the hydraulic lines.
The control
Our foot control allows employees to comfortably adjust the working height with their feet, keeping their hands free to focus on the actual task.
The placement of the control box next to the subframe is noteworthy. While a longer platform could have been implemented in principle, it was decided to avoid a too long wheelbase for the sake of handling. Another positive side effect is the easy accessibility to the control box even in the lowered position.
The scissor lift table is driven by a 230-V unit and requires only a standard Schuko plug for power supply. This universal compatibility allows for flexible use throughout the production area without the need for special CEE sockets.
The material
Another important criterion for our client is the easy cleaning of the hydraulic lift table. Therefore, the platform and the subframe are made of stainless steel, while the scissor mechanism features a durable hot-dip galvanization.
The chassis, composed of fixed and swivel casters, also promotes cleanliness. Its mobility makes it easier for employees to effectively clean the areas beneath the lift table, preventing the accumulation of dirt.
