What are elevating work platforms?

Elevating work platforms are used whenever work at height is required. Under the umbrella term 'elevating work platform,' a wide range of different designs is offered: from a simple scissor lift table to a telescopic platform with multiple individually controlled arms; from an electro-hydraulically powered elevating work platform to a lifting platform with a diesel engine.
Additionally, you can choose between securely anchored solutions, mobile models, and self-propelled variants.

However, all elevating work platforms share one common feature: they provide individuals with a safe working environment at height. Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) for emergency descent during a power outage is just one of the numerous safety features with which our elevating work platforms are equipped.

Certainly interesting is the SRF diagnosis, which allows for immediate recognition, via NFC interface, whether a built-in sensor is reporting an issue. For more information, we recommend the article from BERNSTEIN AG titled 'High north and airy heights' as well as our 'Quick guide to SRF diagnosis'.

What are elevating work platforms used for?

Especially during the assembly or disassembly of heavy components or during extended work periods, the use of ladders can often be impractical or even unsafe. Additionally, when flexible solutions are needed, the elevating work platform proves to be a safer and more comfortable alternative - especially when tools and components need to be carried during work at height. Thanks to the elevating work platform, the operator can place tools and components on the platform and conveniently transport them to the site of operation.

In summary, it can be noted that elevating work platforms are particularly useful on construction sites, in the manufacturing of other machines on the production line, or simply as ergonomic workstations for tasks that involve fatigue.

Which elevating work platform ist the right one?

We would be happy to assist you in choosing the right elevating work platform. However, there is a limitation: We are a lift table manufacturer and focus solely on this. If you have questions about telescopic boom lifts, we may not be able to provide detailed answers.

Our strength lies in the manufacturing of elevating work platforms that are tailored to your specific needs. Your requirements for a elevating work platform can significantly differ from those of other customers. For instance, we can equip the work basket with customized storage surfaces, plug-in railings, or a lateral extension platform to increase the reach.
Just let us know for what purpose and under what conditions you will be using the elevating work platform, and we will select the appropriate technical equipment.

Who is allowed to operate elevating work platforms?

Many companies now offer lifting platform licenses. The good news first: When it comes to operating elevating work platforms, such an operator license is not mandatory. Instead, it serves as your safeguard, as it confirms from an external source that your employee is qualified to operate work platforms.

However, the umbrella organization 'Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung e. V.' (DGUV) stipulates that only trained and qualified individuals are allowed to operate a work platform. The training can also be conducted in-house by qualified personnel and does not necessarily require the involvement of an external inspection authority. To avoid any liability claims, we recommend, however, training conducted by TÜV or a comparable inspection authority. The licenses obtained through such training are valid indefinitely and do not require regular refreshment.
However, your obligation for annual safety instruction remains unaffected, which, of course, must also include guidance on the proper use of elevating work platforms.
